Partners in HomeCare Services LLC (PIHCS) is looking for a compassionate, kind, and patient Care Assistant who’s willing to make a difference in the quality of life of an elder client.
Pay Ranging from $13.00 to $15.00 per hour or starting at $120 per day (live-in only) 
Description

Care Assistants provide service to individuals in their own homes and communities who need assistance caring for themselves because of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other inflictions. Care Assistants provide a combination of Personal Care, Homemaker Care, and Companion Care services.

Responsibilities

Duties vary depending on the individual client’s Care Plan/Service Plan. They can include all or a selection of the following activities although other authorized activities could be added to meet a specific client’s needs:

  • Personal Care Services:
    • Assist with hygienic needs, such as bathing, skin care, shaving, mouth care, hair care, nail care, etc.
    • Assist with dressing
    • Assist with toileting, including bladder and bowel care
    • Assist with feeding
    • Assist with mobility, including walking, transferring, and pushing the wheelchair
    • Assist with exercising
    • Assist in basic client transfers
  • Homemaker Care Services: 
    • Conducting routine light housekeeping activities, such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
    • Care of client’s personal laundry and bed linens
    • Necessary bed-making and changing of bed linen with the client in or out of bed
    • Planning, preparing, and serving meals
    • Assisting with special, written diet plans and reinforcing diet maintenance
    • Listing food and household supplies needed for the health and maintenance of the client
    • Shopping for essential items on the client’s behalf
    • Performing errands
    • Assist with pet care
  • Companion Care Services: 
    • Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support
    • Talking, listening, and sharing experiences
    • Help keep clients in contact with family, friends, and the outside world
    • Assisting clients with communication by writing/typing correspondence
    • Reading material to illiterate clients
    • Accompanying clients to recreational and/or social events
    • Assisting with plans for visits and outings
    • Reminding client to take medication
    • Provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery store, and errands
  • Other
    • Follow the written Care Plan/Service Plan
    • Evaluate the program and make recommendations, as indicated
    • Ensure service is delivered in accordance with Firm policies, procedures, and industry standards
    • Complete and maintain records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service
    • Observe how the client’s functioning and report to the Care Coordinator
    • Attend orientation, in-service training sessions, and staff meetings
Qualifications
  • Current Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) license preferred
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Current driver’s license and proper vehicle insurance coverage preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
Experience
  • Personal Care: 1 year (preferred)
  • Homemaker Care: 1 year (preferred)
  • Companion Care: 1 year (preferred)

CHHA! (*Must sign 6-month employment contract)
