Description

An Occupational Therapy (OT) Consultant plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate the development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled clients within the clients’ homes. They are responsible for providing clients treatment to help them develop and improve their ability to complete everyday tasks.  

Responsibilities
  • Performs and documents an initial assessment, testing and evaluating clients’ physical and mental abilities and analyzes medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals
  • Evaluates clients’ progress and prepares reports that detail progress
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs
  • Selects activities that will help individuals learn life-management skills within the limits of their mental or physical capabilities
  • Recommends changes in clients’ living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities
  • Instructs clients’, their families, and the assigned Care Assistant(s) in treatment procedures to be continued at home
  • Ensures service is delivered in accordance with Firm policies, procedures, and industry standards
  • Observes how the clients’ functioning and report to the Care Coordinator
  • Attends orientation, in-service training sessions, and staff meetings
Qualifications
  • Current Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Occupational Therapy required
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation
Experience
  • Occupational Therapy: 1 year (preferred)
  • Home Care: 1 year (preferred)
