Partners in HomeCare Services LLC (PIHCS) is looking for reliable Receptionist / On-Call Care Assistant to join our team!
Description

The Receptionist is responsible for performing clerical tasks within the office to support daily operations. When another Care Assistant calls out, the Receptionist will convert into an On-Call Care Assistant. The On-Call Care Assistant provides service to individuals in their own homes and communities who need assistance caring for themselves because of old age, sickness, disability, and/or other inflictions. The On-Call Care Assistant provides a combination of Personal Care, Homemaker Care, and Companion Care services.

Responsibilities
  • Greets visitors and obtains names and other pertinent information, notifying appropriate individuals of visitor’s arrival
  • Maintains the Visitor Log
  • Monitor waiting room activity to ensure visitor comfort
  • Assists visitors in finding their way around the office
  • Answers and routes call, as necessary, to appropriate individuals
  • Accurately takes and delivers messages
  • Maintains log of all calls requiring further action
  • Responds to all customer inquiries in a polite and timely manner
  • Schedules appointments for office personnel
  • Prepares meeting and training rooms
  • Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks
  • Maintains clean, orderly, and well-stocked reception area
  • Retrieves, sorts, and delivers mail
  • Accepts and signs for packages and notifies addressee of package arrival
  • Maintains inventory and order supplies for office
  • Runs errands
  • Assists with a variety of administrative tasks, including copying, faxing, taking notes, and making travel plans
  • Ensures all equipment (ex. telephones, printers, shredders, etc.) are maintained and are turned on or off
  • Other miscellaneous office activities as assigned; assist other departments such as Administration, Human Resources, Billing, etc.
On-Call Care Assistant

Duties vary depending on the individual client’s Care Plan/Service Plan. They can include all, or a selection of, the following activities although other authorized activities could be added to meet a specific client’s needs:

  • Personal Care Services
    • Assist with hygienic needs, such as bathing, skin care, shaving, mouth care, hair care, nail care, etc.
    • Assist with dressing
    • Assist with toileting, including bladder and bowel care
    • Assist with feeding
    • Assist with mobility, including walking, transferring, and pushing the wheelchair
    • Assist with exercising
    • Assist in basic client transfers
  • Homemaker Care Services
    • Conducting routine light housekeeping activities, such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, etc.
    • Care of client’s personal laundry and bed linens
    • Necessary bed-making and changing of bed linen with the client in or out of bed
    • Planning, preparing, and serving meals
    • Assisting with special, written diet plans and reinforcing diet maintenance
    • Listing food and household supplies needed for the health and maintenance of the client
    • Shopping for essential items on the client’s behalf
    • Performing errands
    • Assist with pet care Companion Care Services
    • Provide companionship, friendship, and emotional support
    • Talking, listening, and sharing experiences
    • Help keep clients in contact with family, friends, and the outside world
    • Assisting clients with communication by writing/typing correspondence
    • Reading material to illiterate clients
    • Accompanying clients to recreational and/or social events
    • Assisting with plans for visits and outings
    • Reminding client to take medication
    • Provide transportation to medical appointments, grocery store, and errands
  • Other
    • Follow the written Care Plan/Service Plan
    • Evaluate the Care Plan/Service Plan and make recommendations as indicated
    • Ensure service is delivered in accordance with Firm policies, procedures, and industry standards
    • Complete and maintain records of daily activities, observations, and direct hours of service
    • Observe how the client’s functioning and report to the Care Coordinator
    • Attend orientation, in-service training sessions, and staff meetings
Qualifications
  • Current Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) license is a plus
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred
  • Current driver’s license and proper vehicle insurance coverage required
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be willing to travel throughout Southwest Jersey
Experience
  • Receptionist: 1 year (preferred)
  • Office Administration: 1 year (preferred)
  • Customer Service: 1 year (preferred)
  • Microsoft Office: 1 year (required)
  • Personal Care: 1 year (preferred)
  • Homemaker Care: 1 year (preferred)
